Central Police University and Wen Shing elementary school co-hosted the “Little Police’s Adventure: the amazing investigation” winter camp. There were 67 students from Wen Shing elementary school with their parents, 5 and 40 CPU students engaged passionately in the activity. CPU students not only understood the true meaning of “enjoying in sacrifice” but also created unforgettable memories for the children. Furthermore, seeds of justice were planted in those children’s minds and thus made the camp activity even more meaningful.
This activity was host in the Central Police University campus from January 30th to February 1st, 2015 and was guided by the Office of Student Affairs and was organized by the student club of charity and Wen Shing elementary school was in charge of the enrollment.
To attract students’ attentions, the activities and design were specially based on the famous Japanese cartoon animation, Detective Conan. The activities were named after the main characters in the cartoon. For example, “The wrestle of Kogoro Mori” introduced the techniques of Judo and simple self-defense techniques; “The Drug Enforcement of Megure Jūzō-keibu” and “Hiroshi Agasa’ science lab” informed the danger of drug usage and the methods of finger prints identification. While the CPU officers with their handsome uniforms acting lively, the children all understood “The police life of Takagi Wataru. “The challenging moment with Kaito Kid” and “The considerable reminders of Officer Satō Miwako” were designed to increase children’s learning interests by playing games.
This precious activity was organized by CPU students themselves. They not also sacrificed their valuable holidays and covered all the cost by themselves. Through the activity, they have shown their creativity and executive abilities. For example, the making of special finger prints cards was popular within kids and the children witness what the true Conan does through the activities of Cartesian Devil, hydrodynamics and siphon phenomenon.
After this 3-day event, children were all fascinated and wanted to come to CPU again. This shown the popularity of this activity and thus strengthen the relationship between police and the public.
