2016 Student Driver Training

To continuously enforce the right driving concept and thus protect students themselves from avoiding traffic affairs , CPU hosted the student driver training this winter vacation. There were 183 students attending the training last year and more than 200 students joined either 5-day car-driving course and 3-day scooter-training this year. The attendants all learned a lot.
The graduates of CPU are going to become basic security cadres. The ability to control and drive different kinds of vehicles will definitely be one of the important skills of fulfilling the field tasks. However, most students only have the experience in driving cram school but the concept of driving and control technique is same as civilians’. Students are totally lack of safety riding training; that is not what we expected while chasing after the criminals in the future.
According to study, an average of 3.5 college students die from riding accidents. Statistics also showed that an average of 600 traffic accidents occurred on police officers every year. Therefore, the development of police officers’ safety driving sense is also crucial in police education.
Hsin-Chu Driving Education center held training lessons from January 11th to February 5th. There were totally 200 students attending either the automobile or scooter safety driving training, 100 each. Every training period last for 5 days in car-training and 3 days in scooter- training, served with safety driving and advanced driving training.
The safety driving training includes escaping obstacles, emergency brakes, limited-angle turning, brake in curve, dodging in curve, direction exchanging, consistent astern between cones, general turning training, avoiding of lock brakes, brakes in wet land, sliding corrections and 180 degree emergency turning forwards and backwards. The scooter safety training includes emergency brakes, balance training, 8-type turning, U turn, constant obstacles avoiding, brakes in wet land and general turning training, etc. The training lessons are tight and needed hard work, in order to enforce students’ abilities and skill of safety driving and thus apply the skills into field missions.
Most students expressed that they learned a lot. The concepts, skills and experience learned from the training helps a lot in safety driving and the promotion of traffic safety. Therefore, the attending students also recommended juniors to sign up the training in order to learn the right concepts of controlling vehicles and ensure the driving safety in the future.
