Artists
Kai-Xiang Zhong
Paper artist Kai-Xiang Zhong graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Tung-Hai University. He specializes in using corrugated cardboards to create lifelike animal sculptures.

Tudou
Paper artist Tudou is currently a junior at the National Taipei University of Education. Dedicated to creating with cardboard, he studies and promotes the use of different materials, such as different types of glue, paper texture and colors.

Intro
肌理系列Texture series
Deeply interested in the unique appearances of insects and animals from a young age, he takes inspirations from creatures in nature, after stepping into the world of art, he then started to view things from an artistic aspect. By combining bionics with abstract concepts and re-imagining the appearances of animals, he then developed the “Texture” series that are comprised of animals such as jaguars, horses, goats, lions with their muscles showing.

Q獸系列 Q Beasts
Tudou’s project, the “Q Beasts” series, show mythical creatures with personified emotions. It is marvelous that such expressions can be made with cardboard. Please take time to savor the uniqueness and intricate details of each sculpture.

小丑 Pennywise(the clown)
Besides animals, Zhong also enjoys making monsters. The terrifying Pennywise from the horror movie “It” is a work that he also takes great pride in. Zhong’s Pennywise is a perfect replica of the movie villain. From the strange bulging forehead, menacing eyes and mouthful of razor-sharp teeth, to the charred holes on its clothes and tiny wrinkles on the collar are all made to great detail. Looking closely, one cannot help but be surprised at the level of attention and feel unnerved by the lifelike evil appearance of the sculpture.
If you look to the right, by the entrance of the gallery, “The Clown and Balloon” is a collaboration with the renowned magazine Vogue, and is on the cover for the February 2022 issue.
