publish date : 2023-09-11
To celebrate the 87th anniversary of our school, we are delighted to invite renowned doModel & Diorama artist, Mr. Cheng Hong-Zhan, to host a two-week exhibition titled "Miniature Life Showcase" at our campus' Gallery. The exhibition will run from September 1st to September 15th, 2023. The opening ceremony will be presided over by our school principal, Mr. Yang Yuan-Ming, and will feature the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the participation of the Alumni Association President, Mr. He Nuan-Xuan, distinguished alumni representative, Mr. Huo Chun-Heng, and the artist himself.

Mr.Cheng Hong-Zhan's artworks are exquisite, lifelike, and rich in storytelling. They incorporate elements of aging and cracked architecture, aiming to depict the traces of "human use" within the microcosmic world. Through realistic craftsmanship, he presents scenes that can evoke smiles or provoke profound contemplation. Among his many works, "Thank You for Your Care" stands out as particularly special, based on a model of his Japanese friend Shuho Shibahara's eel restaurant, "うなきの芝金中店," expressing boundless gratitude towards his friend.

During his opening speech, Principal Yang remarked, "Through Diorama models, Mr. Cheng brings his life experiences and stories to life in a tangible way. With his keen observation, he transforms everyday scenes from Taiwan into Diorama artworks, capturing them in a more direct manner and calling on the public to care for our homeland and daily lives." Following the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Cheng personally guided the faculty and students through the details and stories behind each miniature art piece.

This event is co-organized by the Student Affairs Office and the 47th Student Union. In addition to the "Miniature Life Showcase," there is also the "47th Batch 45th Anniversary Alumni and Student Art Exhibition." The exhibition encompasses various art forms, including calligraphy, oil painting, ceramics, and sketching, merging multiple elements to inspire the CPU faculty and students to experience the beauty of art and kindle emotions. By combining classical and modern elements in this exhibition, we aim to provide faculty and students with a visually stimulating experience like no other. Alumni members, despite their busy professional lives, continue to learn and create relentlessly, using their works to motivate CPU faculty and students to develop their talents courageously and break their self-imposed limits.
